If anyone actually finds this helpful, let me know. I like hearing feedback. ^^;

I had to do a speech project showing how to do something, so I chose how to draw. I decided to take the images I drew for said speech and make them into a tutorial for ya'll. You make askw hy is he nekkid? Because nekkid people be easier to draw. Drawing wrinkles in clothing is a bitch ><

1. Firstly, remember to draw loosely without pressing hard so you can erase. Get the general idea of what the picture looks like. Put an oval where the head is and circles for the joints, triangles for feet, etc. I personally start drawing from the head down. Just look for very basic shapes within the drawing. Remember that men's hips are smaller than women's and do not create an hourglass shape. They have very broad shoulders that are wider than the hips. Also, their torso is slightly longer and their hips start lower than a woman's. Be careful about making the head too freekin' huge! The human head is actually quite tiny in comparison to the rest of the body. Arms are almost as long as legs, but not quite. Additionally, people tend to draw the legs too short. When in doubt, lengthen them.

2. Build on top of that stick figure! Add the general shapes of the torso, the arms, and the legs. Look at the muscle shapes and draw those in. As you can see, when I draw, I'm very loose and messy about it. Don't try to get it perfect when you're just starting the drawing. Relax and have fun while you try to get the general idea first. You can slowly start to nitpick at details as you go.

3. Continue to build on it and correct yourself. For instance, I noticed that I made the head too large and the neck too thin, so I fixed it. I also had the shoulders too small, so I broadened them. I also added some more muscle detail. Take notice that I initially made the neck too long. I didn't realize this until near the end, so it's not fixed until like step 8. But what I had to do was erase the head and move it down slightly lower while also making the making the shoulders slightly higher. Again, I didn't fix this until the end.

4. I continued to add more muscle detail along with the hands. I'm not even going to describe hands now. They take forever and are way too complicated. I might give hands their own tutorial later if I feel like it. But for now, just apply what you learned about drawing the body-- basic shapes, circles, triangles, sticks. Then build on it.
I drew in the hair and the ears, and I put lines on the face to mark where the eyes, ears, mouth, and nose start and end. ("HEAD, shoulders knees and toes!" :dummy: ignore this outburst) Eyes are about in the middle of the face. The ears start at your eyebrows and end at your nose. Make sure you leave enough room on the bottom for a chin.

5. Each eye is the width of an eye away from the other. That's why he looks like a cyclops right now. I was just marking the width. I also continued to work on the shape of his head, his rib cage, and his arm and leg muscles. I added the eyebrows and the general shape of the nose (very lightly).
6. I continued to work on his body some, but I was mostly concerned with the face. I added where the eyes would be.

7. I took a break from the body and went to town on the face. I needed to get it more structured. Plus, his eyes were too big. As I fixed those things, I added more detail to the ears, nose, eyes, and lips.

8. Finally, I started to add neatness. I made sure that everything was even and symmetrical, and I shaded it. I personally like to used a tortillion aka a blending stick to get nice shadow effects. If you want to see the final product larger and without the censor bar, click here :pointr:[link]
Looking back at it now, I think his neck is still a bit too long, but you get the idea. Also, it doesn't look exactly like the reference picture, but that's okay. You get the idea. I hope this helps people! :iconx3v2plz:
